Hello to all,
I am a new member as of this week.I have enjoyed reading all of your
comments
for a while now & decided to"come out of the closet" as one member put it.I
was
a rep in the 70's for Beacon Cycle.About ten years ago, I decided to start
riding
again.Of course you definitely need a new ride after all those years.Sticker
shock
prevailed;so I went back to my Mercier for a while.Then I started looking
around
& realised no one wanted lugged steel friction shifting dinosaurs.That
peeked my
interest in Vintage Bicycles.The jewels from the recent past were now very
affordable since few had an interest in non high tech machinery.I started by
purchasing a very nice Gios Torino with mostly Super Record & was on my way.
Since then I have owned numerous bikes & currently have the following:
1971 Cinelli Super Corsa
60-70 Italian Masi Gran Criterium
Colnago Master PIU {anyone know when these were made?}
Early 80's Pinarello Super Record
Gary Fisher Klunker {Traded a Merckx 7-11 for it}
I would like to thank Mike Kone for his help over the years.He was my
only
link to the Vintage World back then.
