My wife and I talk about this a lot since we think of bicycles as beautiful visual objects, like most of on the list. One of the more interesting things we've discovered is that colors almost "call" to each bike or shape. Take the pepto-bismal pink that in then mid-80's you could find on Cannondales and Cioccs. On the big tubes it was just horrorible, but on the Ciocc it looked really nice. I ride a pale purple Lotus as my daily bike and on anything else this color would look really bad. Orange is another color that looks really good on bicycles, but not on anything else. When I start building frames I'll be doing some trials using Joseph Albers book on color theory and the effects on bikes. enjoy, Brandon"monkeyman"Ives
