I absolutely agree. Early on, I once built a bike that should have worked well, but a combination of factors made it shimmy terribly at anything over 40mph. I was only speaking of the trail measurement itself which would be a moot point if the rest of the frame was designed or built poorly.

taken out of context, it has no merit. the 'optimum' trail measurement that one may seek as the 'be-all-and-end-all' for their own use will have little effect if the front wheelbase, the frame drop, the rider's center of gravity and position, the frame's materials choices and assembly, the correct choice of components, etcetera are not properly matched for design being referred to. it's all connected! e-RICHIE
