One of the joys of taking my vintage racers on the local "hotdog" training rides is having highly-respected experts from local bike shop explain to me that my:

A. frame is too big, B. saddle is too low, C. wheelbase is too long, D. brake reach is too large, E. stem and bars are too high, and F. bike is too heavy.

"Gosh... I'm surprised I can ride this bike at all!"

I liked the response at I-Pro last weekend, when one of the mechanics was playing with the front wheel from the Legnano (NR hf hub, Fiamme red label, Clement Crit Setas, 3xStella DBs)

"Huh... I didn't know they made ultralight wheels back then."
