Jill, Thanks for the information. I'll have to ask Larry about the trike - perhaps he's tried it out. I met the trike and its owner once before, in Rock Creek Park, but circumstances prevented me from have much of a conversation at the time. It's funny, I was also on the way back to watch the Clarendon Cup race, which took place pretty much around the corner from my house. You're right, there really were quite a few classic bikes around. There were even a few "almost classics" racing in the USCF 35+ race. That is, there were a number of lugged, steel framed bicycles with solid color paint jobs - even if they used STI/Ergo. I noticed that a couple of the pro teams were riding LeMond bicycles. Was anyone able to determine if these were the TIG welded Reynolds 853 frames or were they from some other material? The TIGed frames aren't too classic but it would be interesting if some of the pros were returning to steel. Fred Rednor Arlington, VA
