That particular member (I think I know who you are referring to!) had a particularly self-focussed approach to eBay auctions and MANY folks reported to me that he has sent nasty messages to them, harassing them about bidding against him.

It has been difficult to imagine a CR member wanting to defer to another member when that member has been rude and totally self interested.... and yet expects consideration!

So, in my opinion, it comes down to whether or not that CR member has been a decent, cordial, respectful, nice person! If there is a spirit of mutual trust and you think she/he would help you out in the next situation, the we maybe ought to be inclined to try to give that person a bit of consideration...
