Last week I was given a Ross Signature bike that is decent but clearly mass produced. According to the label on the frame, the main tubes are Ishiwata EX (triple butted). The stays appear to a more common variety of steel. The components are relatively nice. The crankset, brakes and derailleurs are Shimano and look like 600 level items from that era but none have markings that actually say 600. Rather, they have this insignia that looks like a stylized trident. If the better Signature frames used similar compo- nents could that be the source of the "Triad" designation?
