I have one the infamous Raleigh Internationals with the non-brazed bottom bracket. I picked the frame up off of eBay for my wife - to match my International. The frame had never been used and the paint was flawless except for where the BB was rebrazed somewhere along the line. It came with a Pro fork that I repainted in Chartreuse to match the the frame until I locate a proper Inter fork. When I assembled the bike I found that the fork ends were off in length by about an 1/8" or so! What was up these guys in Worksop? To much partying? It was the 70's of course. I have read that the majority of 531 Raleigh frames were brazed semi-automatically by have a ring of brazing material placed in the lug on the assembly line. I guess somebody just wasn't paying attention! I still love the looks and ride of the International (just don't look too close!)

I have been lurking for longer than I care to admit. I am afraid my experience level does not compare to most of contributers. My first real 10-speed was a second hand Mondia bought in 1976 and used at college - only to be sold to help defray the costs of a BSA 441 Victor upon graduation! I have gotten back in to riding seriously in the past several years and currently have a covey of Raleighs including; a'71 and '73 International, a '71 Pro, a '51 Super Clubman (w/ nice FM gear!), and numerous roadsters. I am looking forward to the next Cirque!
