Not one of the really early ones, but I had a 1980 LeTour (red) -- actually still have it, but haven't ridden it in years --- and it has generic 1020 tubing. I can't complain about it too much. Did a double century and went up the Mount Washington Auto Road on it. Of course, those rides were a couple decades ago with 25 or so fewer pounds in the spare tire department. :-0 For you Rhode Islanders, Ken Caster sold that one to me. He was great guy who did a lot for RI cyclists.
