I don't think you did anything wrong at all. I was glad to see what a Cyclo looks like, though I have no thought of buying one or bidding on one. I figure most folks who want one of these will have already seen it on eBay before your bringing it to our attention.

I guess the idea of someone's bidding in an auction thinking that he or she is--or should be--the predetermined winner is just a little sheltered to me. The nature of an auction is that anyone who needs--or simply wants--something can bid; if that means the eventual winner pays a higher price than the minimum bid, well, that's the way auctions work.

Another way to look at it is this: if a seller decides he's not getting enough money for something, he might decide it's just not worthwhile to go scrounging for things to list on eBay to begin with. So as much as I might dream of getting some rare, elusive thing on eBay, I realize that things have their price, and I may not be able to afford them.

That said, I hope whoever winds up with the Cyclo is someone who really wants it, someone who even needs it.
