Hi Joe

the Lycett saddle came from a race bike sold by Charlie Gibb of Dundee. I do not know the maker of the frame as it had been over painted, quite early in its life. I am still researching this. The Williams cranks dated it as 1929, this concurred with the sellers thoughts, which fitted in with all the other components as far as date is concerned. Marks on the seat pin, a dog legged type, suggested that the saddle position had never been moved. This makes me think it is the original saddle, although I now nothing of the Lycett company. If you are looking for a broad saddle for your track bike, then you bid for the wrong saddle, I was going to keep the bike for myself, but decided it was really too small, even allowing for the "fashions" of the day. I wanted to sell the saddle as, I had decided, if I kept the bike, I would have to fit a new, period saddle, as this was too narrow. I even think that this may have been "squeezed" by the original owner, to make it more racy!!.

The frame is currently being enamelled and will be for sale at some time, if any one is interested, then please email me of list.
