Subject: [CR]Yet another old Trek question

Hey folks-

I've been trying to narrow down the age on the Trek frame I acquired earlier this year. So far, based on info from list members and the Vintage Trek site, I've gotten it down to probably a 79 or 80 model 710 frame. But here's a riddle... rear dropout spacing... The 1980 Trek 414 I have (since 1980) came with 126mm rear spacing. This 710 is 120mm. To me, that would seem to indicate that it's older, but from the brochures on the Vintage Trek site, it seems they were equipping some of their high end '80 models with Ultra 6 freewheels, which would imply 120mm. Is that odd or no? I would have thought that the high end models would have gone 126mm earlier, but maybe not. Anyone know?

Thanks!

Tim
