Barelli pedals were made by a firm called Chapman Engineering based in East Anglia in the 70's. They were general mechanical engineers but the son of the owner was a first cat roadman. His name was Colin Chapman and because of his involvement the firm turned out other components besides pedals. I my memory serves my correctly, the side plates are replaceable. They also produced heel plated fot cycling shoes, a small crescent shaped stamping to tack onto the heel of old time shoes to stop them wearing down. Some racing frames were also produced with th Barelli transfer. Mike Mullett
