Dear Mr. Pike,

My name is Wayne Bingham and I am the owner of the Stan Pike bicycle featured on the Classic Rendezvous web site. I'm very sorry if any of the information associated with that feature is incorrect, misleading, or worse, insulting to you or your father. Please be assured that none of the information contained therein was intended that way. Dale Brown is a man of utmost integrity, and his only intent in posting information such as this is to enhance the knowledge and understanding of vintage bicycles, and often to bring recognition to lesser known builders. I'm confident that Dale has the same respect and admiration of your father's work that I do. In fact, I first met Dale when he responded to questions I had posted on another vintage bike website (now no longer in existence), soliciting information about my Stan Pike bicycle. Similarly, Hilary Stone was trying to be helpful in providing information about Stan Pike bicycles, responding directly to my quest to learn more about my bike and it's builder. As Hilary has already pointed out, the information on the site could be misinterpreted, as the quote Hilary made refers to his bike, not mine. However, the intent was (and is), to acknowledge your father's work and artistry, and to provide some background information on someone considered to be one of the premier British framebuilders.

I would very much like to know more about your father and his work as a frame builder. My Stan Pike is one of the prizes of my bicycle collection, and I believe it ranks with the very best of it's era. I would humbly request your help in providing Dale or myself accurate and informative information, and to work with Dale to accurately post that information, so that more people can understand and appreciate your father's contribution to the craft of building outstanding bicycles.

Best Regards,

Wayne Bingham
