these spanners were bolted into the front qr and sandwiched betwwen the front wheel and the dropout. obviously, the skewer had to be unthreaded a bit. once in place, the 2nd wheelset could be qr-ed onto the other end of the spanner-it is shaped like a dropout. you would have your extra pair of wheels on either side of your front fork. e-RICHIE former bloke of nigel tufnell
