For me this was my intiation to the Westminster Swap Meet. Harvey, Curtis, Larry, Wayne, Charlie, Roy, Jill, Sam (whom I don't know, but want his address because I have regrets) were there (others too but my mind is not functioning.) There was a surprising amount of vintage stuff, I thought. The usual jewels that Curtis brings, Wayne's stuff, Harvey's, and Sam's (if someone has his email or address or telephone number, I have regrets about not talking a little more seriously to him about his Falcon track bike). Larry, while subbing at Harvey's table, when asked the price of something would politely respond, "it's yours. Just take it." So at the Cirque in spring, if any need to have someone sub for your table, Larry will go a long way for establishing good public relations.

Some pretty neat stuff: the Falcon track bike, a Pinarello track bike, Curtis had an interesting Paramount and an extremely interesting something else, Havey had a Paramount, Sam's table of stuff I didn't recognize, except to think it was pretty spiffy Simplex derailleurs.

I guess more than what one gets at a Swap Meet (Curtis and I happened to buy the same cap, not similar ones, but the same. He left it on the table after buying it, and I bought it. He ended up giving it to me, because he worked a deal for a Colnago chainring. Thank you, Curtis), what I find fun and interesting is looking at the stuff and talking to other bike goofs. What more can one want: a pack of bike goofs in a good sized building filled with bike stuff.

Worth the trip for this bike goof.

Cheers.

Tom
