ELLIS CHAMPION 21in FRAME, frame number 9323 Chater-Lea headclip, standard size bottom bracket, nice quite fancy hand cut lugs. Saddle bag support fitted to special brazed-on lugs. Percy Ellis was in Fulham, West London. The firm was in business as a framebuilder from 1897 until the early 60s and was one of a number of small British framebuilders who produced exceptionally high quality frames. This one I think judging from the details is from the late 1940s. The frame is in sound condition (though definitely needing a respray), there are some patches of light rusting but equally remains of the original tansfers are still there. One of the characteristics of Ellis frames was the use of round bladed forks which this one has. I have pre-war catalogues from Ellis but nothing post-war. It is spaced for a hub gear or fixed wheel at the rear at 110mm. $225

H R MORRIS 22 3/4in FRAME, late60s/1970s, Campagnolo vertical dropouts, for 700C wheels. Prugnat single point lugs, Built-in pump head cup at top of seat tube, shot-in seat stays under allen key seat bolt, down tube stops for bar end controls and Cinelli style fully sloping fork crown. This is a typical high quality frame from Dick Morris designed I should think for time trialling or road racing with reasonably close clearances. Finished in a single maroony-red colour with transfers. I can get replacement transfers for the buyer at extra cost. See the CR Web Site for more freferences to H R Morris frames. $275

GNUTTI COTTERLESS SPLINED DOUBLE CHAINSET, excellent chrome with NOS bottom bracket, Rings are Gnutti rivetted together and are 49/46T- they show definite signs of wear but are still perfectly useable. 170mm cranks $145

MAFAC RACER DURAL FORGE BRAKESET Very good condition, complete with levers, staddle wire bridges, NOS straddle wires, and a set of NOS brake blocks. $85

GB 66 BRAKE CALLIPERS Excellent condition with poerfect GB red pressed in logos. $65

AIRLITE SMALL FLANGE DOUBLE FIXED HUBSET excellent chrome and smooth bearings. 32/40H perfect threads $85

FB CHAINSET 170mm cranks which look like they have been rechromed without polishing - however they look as if they could redone and made to look good again. 49/46T rings are a double bolt-together job and I think are original - chrome is pretty good but with a little pitting. Almost no wear on teeth. $65

STEEL HEADCLIP STYLE STEM perfect chrrome, no clamp bolt 3in long with quite a short quill. Rare. $30

BIRAMALUX 27in RIMSET 36H NOS. These are identical in section to Weinmann Alesa 210 rims complete with spoke dimples but are stamped madein England, have perfect Birmalux transfers and a have a very lightly knurled braking surface. Perfect for that 70s British bike. $95

CONSTRICTOR ASP RIMSET 27in These are a very good pair of 32/40H Constrictor Asp rims. The front rim shows a little light wear but the rear rim is practically unworn. These are very rare and ideal for a 40s through to 60s British bike. They were the top rim of their time. No dents. $145

AIRLITE LARGE FLANGE/ALESA 27in WHEELS - Large flange Airlite gear/fixed hubs (32/40H) laced to 27in Weinmann Alesa rims. The wheels are very true and all the hub flanges and bearings appear to be in excellent condition. Small aluminium washers have been used under the spoke heads on the rear wheel - this was quite common practice on the best built wheels in England and improves the strength of the wheel by supporting the spoke at the head better. The rims too only show very light signs of use and are excellent. The gear side of the rear hub is spaced for a 5-speed freewheel and is 120mm over the locknuts. $185

DURAX DOUBLE FLUTED CHAINSET These were made from the late 1930s until the early 1960s. They are light and very pretty. This set is unusual in that it is numbered and has the original Durax 46T 1/8in chainring. The teeth show only signs of light wear and the chrome is very good. The chrome plating on the rare length 6 1/2in (165mm) cranks is not so good being worn down to the nickel in quite a few places but they would replate very nicely. These are one of the most attractive continental chainsets available and quite rare. $145

MAVIC OR10 GOLD SPRINT RIMS NOS Perfect pair of NOS Mavic OR10 32H gold anodised rims. They look simply fantastic and would perfectly complement any bike fitted with gold anodised components. $45

ROVAL TT WHEELS Dating from the early 1980s these were one of the first serts of purpose built time trialling wheels and are really trick. They are in excellent condition showing only light signs of wear; there is a very small dent in the upper surface of the rear rim away from the braking surface area. The front wheel has 18 radial spokes. The rear is really trick with six radial spokes on the left hand side and 12 spokes X 1 on the block side. The rear hub is 120mm across the locknuts. They are very true and the rims are not dented. Included are two useable tubular tyres. $195

CLB BRAKE LEVERS FOR SMALL HANDS 1980s NOS Of special note is the short reach to the levers making them ideal for small hands. $25

MILREMO HANDLEBAR STEM - excellent condition 8cm Milremo handlebar stem of the same type as manufactured in France by Pivo. It has no marks of any consequence to the aluminium. $25

CAMPAGNOLO SUPER RECORD TITANIUM PEDALS - very slightly used. The cages show no signs of wear at all but both pedal dustcaps show a little light abrasion. These are very rare and very light - just 268g. $150

CHATER LEA CHAINSET - the right hand crank has been rechromed but the left hand one looks almost unused. A virtually unused 49T 1/8in ring is fitted though the chrome is not perfect. Unusually the cranks are 6 3/4in long - most are 6 1/2in so these are ideal for those slightly longer in the leg. $145
