These were all purchased with Nuovo Record Gruppo bikes.The dates were established by the date codes from the "matching rear derailleur." The other parts crankarms,axle nuts,etc.were all of the same year.So that is the basis for the dating.Also all bikes/gruppos saw very low mileage & several were purchased from original owners.
While cruising the Campy catalogues,I was looking for that famous generic disclaimer used by manufacturing concerns.It does not appear in the #18 or 18bis.But low & behold in mouse type on the inside of the back cover of the 1995 catalogue."Campagnolo SRL reserves the right to modify the product specifications without notice"
The 2002 catalogue has this in BOLD type on page 75 "Campagnolo reserves the right to introduce any and all product modifications it considers necessary without prior notice and without any obligation concerning informative data."
My point is that companies have changed their products for various reasons over different production runs.So unless you were there to see these "evolutions" who knows what may have been produced.I guess that's why there is this thing called ISO Compliance today.
