Subject: [CR]James Grose frame info sought

Bob Reid in an uncommonly rare (for him) spirit of generosity has gifted me a James Grose frame from the 1930s. It is known by the contraction "Jagrose" and is butted 531 throughout, I think. Although not an elegant or "pretty" frame, it has loads of character and, in all those respects, is not unlike Bob in fact.

It could do with refinishing and I'm hoping, probably in vain, to find some transfers for it. I'd love to hear from anyone who can help or is able to shed light on this old London company or the frame. All I know is that James Grose appeared to be one of a few brothers, all of whom made frames.

Thanks,
Bruce
