Hello David. I have used a product call PLASTIC COAT. Its used to dip the handles of hand tools for a nice cushy grip. Basically, puchase a cheap paint brush and apply a couple of thin coats to the backside of the component in question. If applied too heavily the clamp wont clamp. PASTIC COAT is comes in red, blue and yellow, get it at a hardware store. Good luck. Dave Martinez
