My meaning: She started out in Europe in the dead of winter, in one of the
worst winters on record, then through the deserts of afghanistan and pakistan
in high summer. Starting in Europe in the spring/summer, through the desert
and mountain passes fall/early winter would have been a lot more comfortable.
Maybe not as good a read, tho.
I like that she describes the trip people and places and hardly mentions her
hardware until she had her first flat halfway through the trip.
