I've recently picked up a pair of fairly scuffed-up dura ace AX cranks for my AX project bike. One of the guys at the LBS suggested that the finish on the cranks might be lacquer, or some other clearcoat, rather than anodizing. This might make stripping and polishing a reasonable option. Opinions?
