Subject: [CR]72 Paramount P-13 road racing, for sale

For Sale, asking $750 + shipping domestic US - 1972 Paramount Road Racing Bike. 24" frame, center - to top, light blue with chrome lugs, crown, 6" on stays, etc. Original paint, some wear and some wear on decals. Will send jpegs on request. This is the genuine P13-9 racing model, not some more common namby-pamby touring version (!).

I believe that this bike is equipped exactly as shipped, except that nice, narrow, contemporary Rigida rims were installed to replace the sew-ups. Will sell with sew-ups, if preferred.

Proper '72 Nuovo Record, HF hubs have '72 marks. Cranks not original but proper, choice of any FW or chainring options in the Paramount catalog (proper Regina 2-notch 5-speed FW, Oro in some cases.

Choice of all-but new Brooks Professional or Unica Nitor saddles (factory options). Bars and stem Cinelli old-logo (40 cm bars). Later bars and alternative stem lengths available.

Weinmann CP brakes, with "Schwinn Approved" spares.

This bike is a rider, so the paint is not perfect.

It is a very, very nice rider, but marginally big for me.

Comes with a B&W photocopy of the original factory Paramount brochure for '72, thanks to another list member.

I believe that the price is very competitive, but would defer to our mutual friend Peter Naiman and his description of his Paramount for sale:

Naiman's bike: "Schwinn Paramount Racer 1972 23" Reynolds 531 tubing. Black w/ chrome fork ends, crown, stays and head lugs. Saddle: Brooks competition. Campy Gruppo, w/Campy 36H low flange hubs. Regina 6Spd freewheel. $750.00 or B/O"

I would consider trades, with cash to even things up. Not much I know I'm looking for, but possibilities include a decent true fixed-gear bike in the 22" - 23" range, but not an ultra-short sprint bike (to be ridden on the road), or Cinelli of the late 60s through mid 70s.

Thanks!
