My uncle has a Viscount that I found at a flea market years ago. I had no idea what it was, because it had been repainted, but I knew it was cool (or at least odd) and very light. I offered it to my uncle because it seemed to be his size. "Sure has a lot of Viscount parts on it," I told him.

Anyway, I know I saw an aftermarket bb for sale online that was made to use in a frame with ruined bb threads. There were no pictures, but the copy said it had some sort of expanding shell that tightened up in the frame, no threads necessary. It may have been on the Cambria web site. They have a lot of weird stuff. I'll take a look and if I find it I will post an address.

PS Thanks for all the suggestions re the Vent Noir with bad chrome. I have decided to wait a while (the project backlog is large) and maybe just put it back together all clean and then figure out what to do with it. I had no idea of its scarcity, hence the posting about it. There is a nearly identical frame listed on eBay at the moment, and last time I looked, it was doing right respectable.
