Hello Everyone, I'd like to take a small amount of bandwidth to make a newbie introduction to the list. Let me start by saying that I must plead ignorance in a large part to many of the topics discussed here. I've returned to cycling the last 5 years after an extended hiatus. When I rediscovered the sport I found that I was drawn to classic rides and components that I remembered, lusted after, or simply couldn't have imagined owning when I was pedaling my Schwinn Varsity through Fairfield and Westchester counties in Connecticut and New York. I have great admiration for the tactile beauty of the older components and frames that belies their functionality. This is not to take anything away from the current offerings. In many cases the parts perform far better then the earlier examples, but it seems to me at that economic considerations, etc have pushed the industry as a whole in a direction that I do not wish to follow.

I have a modest stable though some are not of interest to this group.

1971 Raleigh International ( With great thanks to Ed Braley) 1972 Schwinn Paramount 1973 Mondia Special 1983 Trek 720 1983 Diamondback Ridgerunner 1984 Mercian Classic 1984 Specialized Expedition 1989 Bridgestone MB-1

As far as "Wish List" is concerned..If anyone knows of a Austro Daimler Superleicht Frameset in a size 53cm-54cm I'd be interested in hearing from you.
