One more thing on manufacturer's quoted rim weights. How many holes are they quoting (the steel ferrules add significant weight... 28, 32, 36, 40?). Also some rims used the addition of a washer under the nipple head instead of ferrules (Nisi rims for instance). Campagnolo used to quote the rim weight without ferrules and gave you the weight of a single ferrule so that you did your own rim weight calculation for the rim you were thinking of buying.
