I was talking to Peter Rich (Velo Sport, Berkeley CA) this weekend and he
told me the Competiziones were a model "spec'ed" by a US importer. He
mentioned the guys name, which I will get again (with pencil in hand) next
time I see him. I saw an early one, serial number began 16xxxx that was
equipped as follows:
HF record hubs, Fiamme Red Label rear, Blue Label front
steel cottered cranks (no name)
Gran Sport gears
Universal 61 brakes
Ambrosio bar and stem, non recessed stem bolt
steel seat post with macro-adjusting steel clamp
leather saddle.
The seatpost was crammed all the way down and I didn't have a caliper to
measure the diameter to check tubing gauge.
