The last go round on this question left me very puzzled.

A British member of the list suggested thin paraffin rubbed on the hoods and others suggested that this was the same as Vaseline petroleum jelly. To the best of my knowledge Vaseline is murder on latex.

I don't remember this ever getting resolved. Anyone?
