Fellow list members:

I've thought of doing this ever since I took a very fascinating tour. I'm a commercial banker and once had a customer who owned a Prop shop in Hollywood. I mean this place had all those wonderful things you movie fans would have loved to see. Dirty Harry's 44 magnum... Uhuru's Star Trek Communicator (the turned aluminum thingy she put in her ear)... Maxwell Smart's shoe phone... etc.

They had a latex shop that was fantastic! I was shown a shovel.. From two feet away it looked absolutely real. You could see the woodgrain in the handle, the bolt and nut that held the shovel onto the handle and the rust patches on the steel shovel. All Latex and paint! This was the prop shovel that the bad guy uses when he hits the good guy over the head. Then I was shown the roomfull of latex Uzi's, M14's, Mausers, Tommy guns, etc.. These are the prop rubber guns that they give the poor guys who get shot on the roof of the building then have to fall off.. Hey no use ruining a perfectly good Uzi!

As a "by the way" Their gun shop was amazing.. contact me offline for the details.

Anyway, it would be nothing for one of these craftsmen to repro a set of any type of hoods. I agree there could be copyright issues, but only (probably) if Campy has the time and U.S. legal representation to send a threatening letter to this person. Oh, yeah.. this guy is from Southern California isn't he? Home of the movie industry?

Hmmm.
