I have TA 3-pin 52-47-36 rings on an alloy Campy Sport crank and that works. I also have 50-45 criterium rings on an adapteur on a steel Campy sport, and that works too. The adapteur does not fit on a 3-pin TA crank however. Perhaps there were different versions of the adapteur for TA and Italian 3-pin cranks. There are 1/8" track chainrings made for the TA 3-pin also, and I've seen inch pitch too.

It's fun to mix and max chainset parts and the old 5 pin and 3 pin standards are great for this. For my wife's Rochet, I made up a chainset with Stronglight 49A cottered arms, a Simplex 5-pin to 3-pin adaptor, Alfa Criterium 3-pin to 6-pin adaptor, Simplex steel and alloy chainrings, and TA and Campy Sport bolts. There are 14 bolts in this thing, and the parts are from France, Spain, and Italy and 5 manufacturers, and it all works together. It looks cool too.
