More info forthcoming as we dream it up (our planning sessions are frequently way off topic)

The details are being hammered out but this much we know for sure.....

July 29th 2002 Sunday 6am til 2 pm EL TORREON BICYCLE & SCOOTER SWAP MEET 31st & Gillham Blvd up the hill from Hallmark Cards Crown Center shops, Union Station Science Center & the Crossroads art Gallery/Studio District are all less than a mile away for those significant others who don't think bicycles are endlessly interesting.

Plus a pubcrawl the evening before.

Last year's was a clear success. We lost count of the booths that went up. but in terms of active swapers there were as many as 40. And the turn out was close to a couple hundred at its thickest mid morning.

Midcontinent CR attendees: --Sarah Gibson (ride ring leader and MO/KANic ) --Jeremy Haynes (Slimen und Grossen CycleX promoter) --Leon Lantz (cycling KC since the 50's(?) and for the last 30 on a white Paramount) Their booths all had beaucoup classic content.

Plus--"Scorcher Rick" Chasteen (I'm going to insist he bring & show his black cantilevered Schwinn stealth stiff gear---very elegant)

Tommy & Tony were you there?

Several local bike shops cleaned out their corners and brought the sweepings ---GOOD stuff!

Lots of Cycling sudries from other bygone eras. plus Scooter looters and Balloonatics. Early motor bicycles.

Last year we only promoted for about a month and got lucky. This year the word is out early so we expect even better attendance. We hope to see more folks from the light classic community.

Email me with any questions or restaurant suggestions.
