I believe that Richard Sterino at Campy was saying that any abuse of Campy equipment (i.e. wrecks or crashes) cancels warranty and causes safety concerns. The warranty apparently applies to non-standard failures that are ***not*** caused by normal wear and tear.

Yes, I believe that Campy has altered the rules for warranty since the #17 catalogue, but proving they did it would be difficult and expensive in court. Campy would likely settle out of court for parts that could be proved to be covered by warranty, but significant personal costs would be incurred
