oh i just cant resist this thread anymore. have to throw in my 2 cents...

some more specific than others, and im continually thinking of other bikes that id want if i had a) money and b) space, but these are the constants:

1. jack taylor 650b rough-stuff/tourer with taylor racks and all the braze-ons (racks, fenders, cantis etc) (though it wouldnt kill me to "settle" for 700c...)

2. a 30s/40s umberto dei of any description, as long as its near my size...

3. french-style "porteur" bike - herse, singer and others made these - high-zoot versions of french newspaper courier's bikes... herse or singer would be nice, but ill be realistic :)

4. witcomb track - rode one of these that a friend had for a while, and it was one of the nicest ive ever ridden. decided id buy the next one i could afford in my size. of course, a year later, found one in my size, and had no money... such is life...

of course, theres also a host of other bikes id love to own from outside the scope of the cr list...

too many nice bikes to want... and im lousy with favorites...

-joel
