He was from Hungary but there's already some debate as to whether Yiddish or Hungarian was his primary tongue. I only know how my French acquaintances pronounced it and they could be wrong! I think we need a list member with a French residence to help clear this one up. (Merely owning a French bicycle is apparently just a trap when it comes to this important question.)
