yeah...my bros bike was a mtn bike, so the pedals were too small to fit on the raleigh...another reason why i would like clipless is because the toe clips i have dont fir very well on the older pedals on the raleigh...as soon as i get new pedals i'll put the clips back on my gitane...but neway...ill check out ebay for "red" Look pedals b/c ive never used clipless before...i dont have much $$ though...oh well... on a side note...im going to need stuff for racing next year...i'd like to upgrade my bike to a 15-speed by adding a smaller front cog because my knees are starting to kill...and id like to get lighter 200cc ir 27" wheels (the ones i have now are the origional steel ones, REALLY heavy) so if anyone has anything about the garage that they'd like to sell...mail me offlist...I really need that stuff... One side will be threaded left and the other right so that means the pedal has to go on the correct side.

If you are going to use clipless pedals then you will need to not only purchase the pedals, but also special shoes and the cleats that lock the shoes to the pedals. Although old fashioned, I generally use pedals with toe clips myself. If you are not an experienced rider with clipless pedals I suggest you start out with something like the Look style pedal. You can often pick these up on eBay for a reasonable price -- sometimes with cleats included. If you use the Look style clipless pedals I suggest you start out with the "Red" cleats, they are easier to release than the others. One of my biggest problems with clipless pedals is getting them to release if I have to come to a sudden stop. More than once I have come to a screeching halt and then just fallen over because the cleat didn't release from the pedal.

well i used the tri-flow on my pedals because they were gunked up on the threads and it worked great...the only thing is when i took the pedals off...the bearings are pretty much shot, so, i need new pedals...i havent looked at any pedals at the bike shop but came here first...i dont know what size threads they are but they are a little bigger than my brothers new bike (believe me i tried to make it fit) i need them for the raleigh...and id like to have clipless ones because i need them for racing. any suggestions??
