It sure looks like a recod bike, similar to Letourners, but older. The all out speed record is another fascination of mine, which leads in to a question I have. On Fred Rompelbergs site, he lists a record attempt in 1904-5 In St Louis. I've never heard of the rider or the attempt, but the listed time is too perfect to seem real. Does anyone know about this? Or about any other trys for the record, especially if pictures of the bikes are available. This picture opens a whole new avenue, but info on these records in europe and the U.S. is hard enough to come by, let alone info from eastern Europe in the early 1900's.

No brakes. Looks more like a motorpace bike. It could indeed be a record attempt machine to be used drafting behind either a car or motorbike.
