Thanks for the help, everyone who helped date this Guerciotti:

Alas, it has a problem at the ST/BB joint: a 'cold' braze there. (maybe Uncle Lino had to get the phone??!). I can e-maiI close-ups of the area. A crack is visible in the BB at one of the cutouts as well as some visible gaps; I've shown it to Dave Bohm and he declared the tube is 3/4 detached inside!

This is pretty heartbreaking, since the rest of the workmanship is impeccable and this is one rare and sweet bike. I've ridden it (3 miles) and it's low and stable, truly lovely! It is in good condition, with a full NR group-- PAT 72 der, no-date cranks and patent hardware, old logo bar/stem.

So it shouldn't be ridden any more as is. Both framebuilders who have seen it say that it *IS* repairable. The owner (a friend and local collector w/ 300 bikes!) and I both insist it go to a home where it will be revived and kept and ridden. We couldn't bear seeing her sent off to the glue factory!

So, if you aren't going to strip the parts and you'll repair it (but not refinish the whole frame) and can ride a 57cm c-c square, you can have it for $500. I will personally deliver it to Joe Bell, Brian Baylis, or Cyclart; to the next vintage ride in San Diego or Pasadena; or will ship it for another $40-50 (in USA). Sorry if I'm a little strict about what the new owner does with it, but this is a special bike, worth keeping in the family.
