Paying a contract builder (or molder in this case) to make something for you is NOT the same as licensing the the name/product.

In the first case, Campagnolo receives the entire production run, and can accept or reject the items as necessary. In the second case, the manufacturer slaps your name on the product and ships it out the door without you ever seeing it.

That's why many people don't feel that Bon-trek-ers are as good as Santa Cruz built Bontragers ...
