Hey Classicpals, If anyone reads or gazes upon the VeloSnooze (which I always read in bed to insure a soothing sip from the river Lethe...), you will find an ad on the back cover of the recent edition featuring Dede Demet but more importantly you'll see Dede aboard her custom lugged steel Mariposa. We've been pointed to other pictures of this beautiful bike, but i like this one: http://203.152.224.121/photos/?id=2002/interviews/demet/RKdededemetbarry

Goes to show, of course, that it's the motor not the bike when it comes to fast but that fast can be elegant and even classic (with dispensation for the carbon fork...made up by the masked two-tone paint, as I see it...).

Sorry for the cross posting...Also, I bet she is NOT using the Rene Herse cantilevers that just went for $1,259.00 on eBay!! Not that there is anything wrong with using cantilevers on a race bike either...:-) Douglas Brooks looking across that big lake to Toronto, sort of, in Canandaigua, NY
