Subject: [CR]Teledyne Titan Info

Thanks to Steve Kurt for a link to the Bicycle Guide article on Teledyne and to Charlie Young for emailing me the scans. I think Dale now has the scans, wihich hopefully will be added to the Teledyne page on the CR site. I reread the the article and was able to establish, among other things, the advertised size of my frame. The article explains that since the cast plug-in titanium lugs dictated the seatstay-chainstay angle, they made only four frame sizes, 21, 22, 23 and 24" (all c-to-t), and only 2 rear triangles. This caused the seatstays to join the seat tube well below the top tube on the 22" and 24" model, while the seatstay attachment was much closer to the top tube (similar to a steel bike with fastback stays) on the 21" and 23". Mine is definitely as 22", as it has the seatstay attachment well below the top tube as mentioned in the article. The article also mentions that before Teledyne became involved in the project, the first prototype was produced by none other than Albert Eisentraut. Very interesting reading.
