he lapped the field three times to beat antonio londonio (sp?) and get enough time to move into first place on gc. on the same north boulder park course, phil anderson had lapped the field twice in 79 and folks thought it amazing. but to witness boyer do it three times was, to me, even more amazing than seeing the lemond/fignon duel in paris on tv years later. boyer was a fine tactician, and there were a few combines going on that day. but it was still him pushing that bicycle, the one with all the spades... e-RICHIE chester, ct
