one of the main things that makes me inclined to *beleive* the weights listed in the touring trials (i have the points charts for several of the events) is how utterly *anal* they were about every aspect of the scoring. weights are listed to the nearest .005 kg, km/hr to 2 decimal places, etc. there were formulas to calculate weight penalties based on frame weight compensated for frame size... things like that. im disinclined to beleive that an organizing body that was such a stickler for details, and so eager to penalize for the littlest things (dented rims, loose bolts on fenders) would turn a blind eye to wholesale falsifying of weights... call me naive, but...
