Since I took the track racing class at Trexlertown Velodrome this year, I'm wanting a classic track bike too. I've been looking around and here's what I've found:
1. The Cirque du Cyclisme - the Classic Rendezvous meet in Greensboro, NC the first weekend in May (right Dale?) This year there were several very nice track bikes, and my buddy Dan Artley got a beautiful Jack Taylor frame. You could have even talked to Brian Baylis or Chris Kvale who build wonderful fixed/track bikes.
2. Keep reading this list; just this week, Sterling Peters
listed a Condor on ebay,

3. Ask. Post what size, condition, and other preferences you want, and there might be a member who has just what you want.
4. Keep surfing ebay, try my searches,

5. FixedGearFever has a classified page
http://www.fixedgearfever.com/
6. Stop by the track, there's usually some stuff for sale posted on a bulletin board. At T-town there's an ad for a 73 Paramount and a '79 Raleigh Pro.
7. Sniff out bike shops, the older the better. I'm not familar with NYC shops (I'll be there next week), but ask the oldest guy there if they have any track stuff.
8. Get on the fixed gear list:

Good luck and happy hunting! As for me: I've found a late '60's Cinelli in exactly my size and favorite color with all original parts... Is $1200 a good price (original paint & decals, but scratched and dull chrome)? I'll have to sell my Vitus (plus a non-classic touring bike and many other non-bike items), but this bike has major mojo!
