Subject: [CR]Vintage bike ride in Europe

To anybody interested in going for a ride that is intended to recreate the bicycle races of the past, there is an organized ride on September 30th in the Chianti area of Italy (just around the corner for most of us!) The long course is 140 km of which 85 are on unpaved 'white' roads just like in the old days. There are people riding all types of vintage bikes, even though it is open to anybody on whatever bike they like, as long as they don't ride mountain bikes. There are many that ride turn of the century bikes with matching outfits. Their is also an accompanying swap meet that is a great place to find older lightweight bikes.

There is an article in a recent edition of the Italian Panorama newsmagazine (similar to Newsweek or Time), you can see the article (In Italian) at: http://www.espressonline.it/ESW_articolo/0,2393,23524,00.html
