I thought that Simplex fabbed all of the Galli line of derailleurs; presumably in their Italian factory. All of mine have Simplex jockey pulleys.

My (limited) experience with a Nuovo Gran Sport RD doesn't square with Jerry's. I have one that handles a Shimano 9 speed cluster with Campagnolo DT shifters admirably. I think that the geometry looks nearly identical to the NR RD but the execution is a little cruder with the body castings, finish, hex head pivot bolt and steel cages.
