You'll get a lot of responses on this. We've been down this road before, but there is still no consensus. Some will say all post-1984 cranks are marked "11." Others have said that cranks marked "11" were produced after the end of normal SR production and were intended solely as warranty replacements. This suggests that only "warranty" cranks were produced after 1984, which makes no sense. All the "circle-4" cranks are fluted. That means all the fluted "11" cranks as well as all the stamped and laser-etched non-fluted cranks were warranty cranks. No way. I believe fluted "11" cranks were made in 1985, stamped-logo non-fluted cranks were contemporay with early stamped-logo C (85-86), and laser-etched non-fluted cranks were contemporary with the first laser-etched C cranks.
