I had an interesting Raleigh single-speed with matching front and rear hubs with matching wingnuts. These wingnuts were different from the ones used on the 3-speed hubs I've seen. So to answer your question, yes they did make wingnuts for their front hubs but I don't know if they made ones that matched the 3-speeds.
