Mary, When these cups are in good condition, they can be very handy. I bought one new in the mid 70's and used it often. It was made of aluminum. This was in the days when farmers irrigated with open ditches east of Denver. We would take our water from the well discharge pipe at the pumphouse. We never got sick from the water and it was very cold.
