I'd call Rivendells "modern classics" just as I would a Baylis or Sachs. And there are no doubt a lot of Rivendells with 20 year old parts or with TA Cyclotourist cranks that are near-identical to those manufactured 20 years ago. As to being on topic, Dale's always been very clear that Rivendell, Baylis, Sachs and other high-quality, classic style, lugged steel road bikes are welcome here.

Jerry Moos

Riv's use modern steel, lugs, and paint they aren't using parts manufactured 20 years before. Rivendells are awfully nice bikes but they're not true "classics." If you want to see some true classics please check the CR website or my site < http://www.uweb.ucsb.edu/~mkirklan/classiclinks.html>
