I agree that the serial number on the headtube would be out of place on most any custom frame. I don't think it's a good idea on most any frame though and neither is the seattube or dropouts for that matter. The bottom bracket seems like a good place. Another thing that should be standardized? Brian, If someone came in with a frame to be painted and asked for the serial number to be filled in on the headtube, what would you say?
